District Supply Office

District supply Office is the nodal office for management of  TPDS( Targeted Public Distribution System) and Food Procurement (at MSP level) at district level. District Supply officer is posted at district level to assist District Magistrate in discharge of duties related to Food and Consumer Protection matters.

Sub-divisional Magistrate is the licensing authority under PDS Control Order 2001 for all PDS Dealers.

PDS

The Supply of Foodgrain and Kerosene at subsidized prices is ensured to Target Groups- namely BPL, Antyoyadaya, APL families through TPDS( Targeted Public Distribution System). 

SMS Intimation system

Since 01-04-2012 a news sytem of SMS Intimation Sytem (SIS) has been implemented  to ensure timely intimation to target consumers and members of Panchayat Level Monitoring committees, whenever a PDS Dealer lifts any amount of foodgrain or kerosene. Besides a MIS is also maintained recording the lifting pattern. the website can be accessed at PDS Munger MIS

Procurement

In this year Paddy Procurement for ensuring Minimum Support Price(MSP) has been done through PACS. More than 11,000 MT Paddy has been procured till 31-03-2012. The figure is expected to go up when season ends on 30-04-2012.
